CONCEPT AND GAMEPLAY 

The Maze is a third-person Dungeon Crawler developed as an academic exercise to learn the workflow in Unreal Engine. The player must navigate through a procedurally generated maze, facing waves of enemies ("Slimes") to find the exit.

  • Objective: Exploration and survival.
  • Mechanics: Basic melee combat and navigation in 3D environments.

TECHNICAL DATA

  • Engine: Unreal Engine (Blueprints).
  • My Role: Gameplay Programmer & Integrator (Solo Dev).
  • Status: Academic Prototype / Tech Demo.

LEARNING MILESTONES 

This project shows my first approach to Unreal Engine:

  • Visual Scripting: 100% of the logic programming was done using Blueprints.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI): Implementation of NavMesh and simple chase logic for the enemies (Slimes).
  • Tool Integration: Implementation of a third-party maze generator (Unreal Fab), adapting it to the needs of the gameplay loop.
  • Combat System: Management of collisions, damage, and player health.

CREDITS & ASSETS Non-profit educational project.

  • Environment: Maze generator (Blueprint) obtained from Unreal Fab.
  • 3D Art: Environment and character assets from Sketchfab and Unreal Fab.
  • Gameplay Programming: Developed by me.
